Adoption Timeline

"A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families..." Psalms 68:5-6a

November 2005: We discuss adoption and decide this is definitely something we will pursue, one day!
August 6, 2011: We decide 100% on Africa. Looked in to Ethiopia
August 6, 2011: Found out Ethiopia reduced adoptions by 90% in March 2011 so we looked into Uganda.
August 7, 2011: Had a 1 hour phone conference discussing adopting from Africa. She brought up a ton of issues for us to consider and gave us the requirements for Uganda: a 8 week stay in country. I couldn't leave my 2 kiddos here for that long. So she discussed with us the possibility of Congo. We got really excited knowing God had our little baby waiting for us in the Democratic Republic of Congo and we were going to get him within 12 months!!
August 11, 2011: We submit our application and application fee to Little Miracles International out of Amarillo, Texas.
August 20, 2011: We received our acceptance letter in the mail with the huge packet of paperwork. Luckily the kiddos were napping so Trevor and I sat down for 3 hours to fill it out.
August 29, 2011: We sent our first big check with the packet of paperwork to Little Miracles to begin our home study process.
September 8, 2011: The email came in with receipt of them receiving our first big check and a link to our adoption education. We began the 10 hour education courses from Heart of the Matter Seminars!
September 10, 2011: Our adoption "binder" came in the mail. Filled out the 4 page form on how will this child disrupt our life form, filled out I600A and I864 forms.
September 28, 2011: Met with our case worker Deborah for our 1 and only in office visit. Received the Yellow Fever vaccine.
